If you have spent the time and effort on the first 9 rules of eating, the 10th one gets really easy. Listen to your body and become an intuitive eater. The previous rules are designed to guide you treat your digestive system with the respect it deserves. Our bodies are finely tuned instruments that can extract what nutrients we need and deliver them if we allow proper nourishment to take place. Each of the rules are important. The rules are not designed to hold you back, but to bring you to a new level of health and function. Mental, physical, and emotional well-being are strongly tied to your nutrition status. You cannot, and should not, ever take your physical health for granted, and never underestimate how powerful your emotions are in playing a part in your nutritional habits. Only when you have mastered the first 9 rules, will number 10 be within reach.
Listen to your body! It will tell you very clearly which food to eat, and what you should avoid. Quantity and quality are no longer a process of discernment, but become automatic and natural. The biggest challenge will be in ignoring others opinions and advice, and doing what is best for you. One of the crimes that is committed most often against people in this country, is the amount diets, fads, doctors, pills, and opinions on what works and what doesn’t. You need to become responsible for your health and well-being. You, better than anyone, should know what works best for you.
It is my sincere hope that everyone who has followed the rules listed, and honestly learned about themselves, will be successful with weight loss and overall health for the long term. Enjoy your life. Embrace healthy habits as a gift instead of a curse, and find what works for you….for a lifetime.
