Fashion is fun, but it tends to be more daunting if you don’t have a signature style. I have always been drawn to the classic tailored looks suitable to my short stature. I recently had the absolute pleasure of discovering New York designer, Amy Matto, who was kind enough to send me some samples for our new show SmartFem Entertainment.
I can’t express the sheer excitement I felt as I opened the box of hand-picked dresses she sent to my office. It was as if Amy Matto knew me personally and had been through my closet. Although I love scanning through fashion magazines I am not quite as adventurous as Carrie Bradshaw from HBO’s Sex and The City. I really have simplified my clothes selection to one simple theme; if I don’t feel pretty in it or if I feel it doesn’t flatter me, it has no business being in my closet.

Designer Amy Matto sent me several gorgeous dresses that made me feel absolutely incredible. The dresses are made with fabulous craftsmanship and fit me perfectly. It was clear they had not been made from some warehouse in China. Made here in the U.S. the quality is exquisite and these are timeless classics that I could see Princess Kate or her sister Pippa wearing. Amy Matto already has many celebrity fans including Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, Cindy Crawford, Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Rutherford.
They are tailored designs they have the nicest fabrics and not only feel great but also drape your figure in the most flattering of ways. I would not categorize myself as a fashionista, but I do feel I have a signature look that I prefer. Being a petite woman makes things a bit more challenging, but I have found that simple, elegant and timeless pieces work best for me. The real bonus for me is that these are actually affordable pieces that compare to those of other classic big name designers. Amy Matto designs makes me think of beautiful Parisian women who look perfectly put together with their flawlessly coiffed hair and fabulous shoes…”Sensual and feminine while being sophisticated and appropriate.”
Clearly Amy Matto is a woman who understands how to design clothing that makes us feel pretty. I am not sure how she makes it happen, I just know that I’m hooked. Her designs are classic and go fabulously with my collection of Chanel handbags and designer shoes.
I loved her designs so much that I had to find out more about her. I discovered that Amy is married with twins, so she understands what it means to be a busy woman on the go.
