This week I purchased a new camera, my first DSLR camera, and I was more than excited to take some fun photos with it, but then I took a few of myself with a smile and embarrassingly realized that my teeth were not as white as they used to be. My first thought was to head to my dentist’s office to have a whitening treatment done, but I quickly decided against this not only because of the cost but also the pain I have heard from one too many people who have had theirs done.
I was looking online for some alternatives and found Sensational Smiles, a mobile teeth whitening company that is located in Phoenix – and with my busy schedule I thought that it sounded perfect!
I am not going to lie, I was quite nervous and scared to try this out because I didn’t really want to have ultra-sensitive teeth for a few days and I didn’t want to ruin my teeth with the harsh chemicals. But, I was quite wrong about this type of whitening. My technician, Rob, sat down with me prior to my treatment and fully explained the process I would undergo and the products that he was using on me. I was so grateful for this since it was my first time.
Sensational Smiles used Davinci Whitening Systems on me, which has an extremely fast processing time. First Rob helped me to put a guard in my mouth, which opened my mouth extremely wide, physically painless but slightly embarrassing looking! Then he tipped me back in my chair to make sure I was fully comfortable to sit there for a bit. He then brushed the whitening gel onto my teeth, it was almost like painting nails, and I was all set.
I put some super chic looking goggles on to protect my eyes and then Rob maneuvered a light to shine into my mouth and set the timer for 15 minutes. During that time I just closed my eyes and stayed still, and they time flew right by. Rob helped me to rinse out my mouth and then we repeated the process for a second time, again I sat under the light for 15 minutes.
When I was sitting under the light I did not feel any pain, which was a surprise since I thought that the second time my teeth would be sore, but thankfully they weren’t!
After I rinsed my mouth for the final time, I was super excited to see the results of my treatment, and I believe my smile can speak for itself!
After the treatment Rob gave me a few tips about some aftercare for my new smile, and I am happy to say that after following those I did not experience any sensitivity in my teeth at all. Overall, I have teeth that are visibly whiter and I can eat ice cream without any pain, I’d say that is a win-win situation!
