(Scottsdale) – The Women of Scottsdale recently announced Mary Contreras as the 2015 Scottsdale Woman of the Year. She was honored as a result of her many years of philanthropic endeavors and support to the Scottsdale Community. Mary is a member of the Charter 100 group, Circle of Red for the American Heart Association has supported the Arts and the Small Business Community for years. The award was announced on Friday February 19th at the Scottsdale Marriott McDowell Mountain.
Mary Beth Contreras (Bielmaier) is the Agent owner of the The Contreras State Farm Agency, Inc. Mary was joined by her father William J. Bielmaier of Wall South Dakota, sisters Cathy Thompson, of Edwards Colorado, Cheryl Stewart, of Haslet Texas and local friends Karen Poppe and Kate Miraglia of Wall, SD. A special video presentation was made to honor Mary on behalf of her many friends and community partners.
Women of Scottsdale was founded in 1998 and the group selects it’s “Woman of the Year” award based on years of service to the local Scottsdale Community. Former recipients of this award are Billie Jo Herberger,Janie Ellis, Paula Cullison, Mary Manross (Former Mayor), Pam Gaber of Gabriel’s Angels and Debbie Gaby (former President of Sleep America) Vicki Collins Edwards, Elllen Andres-Schneider, Wink Blair, Senator Carolyn Allen, Joan Fudala, (Honorable Judge) Linda Milhaven, Lois McFarland, Cie Scott and (Former Mayor) Sam Campana.
Mary Contreras has been serving her clients and local business owners for many years through her State Farm Agency. Her firm offers a wide variety of insurance services and specialties. Her commitment to the community was reflected in the record number of attendees who came to see her awarded. Several top executives from State Farm also flew in to see her become the 2015 Scottsdale Woman of the Year.
