Well, your phone might end up behind bars, that is.
Cell Lock-Up is made by EB Brands Holding, Inc., a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of imported giftware items.
The gadget is a square replica of a jail cell complete with holding docks that holds up to six phones. One of the docks even mimics a bunk bed.
Users place their phones into the cell, which is then locked up by a timer. Users can’t get to their phones until the timer goes off, which can be set for up to 60 minutes.
And there’s no early release at this jail, try and a break-out alarm will sound.
The gadget aims to help, “bring conversation back to the dinner table,” and “stop cell phone disturbances,” according to the description on EB Brands’ website.
In fact, the average person spends about 90 minutes a day on their phone, according to Mobile Statistics.
And with issues like text neck arising from constantly looking down at one’s cell phone screen, perhaps a simple lock-up will help us free our hands and focus on other things.
Cell Lock-Up can be found online at EB Brands’ website, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, and retails for around $20.00.
